Getting ready for your LaunchPad session? Here’s a quick guide to help your presentation flow smoothly and keep the audience engaged.
LaunchPad is a relaxed, community-driven space. You don’t need to be perfect, just share what you’ve learned, be authentic, and enjoy the ride.
PRESENTER QUICK TIPS:
☑️ Introduction.
Open with a short story, question, or challenge to grab attention.
☑️ Keep it conversational.
Talk like you’re explaining something to a colleague — not reading a script.
☑️ Slow down.
Pausing helps your points land and gives the audience time to absorb them.
☑️ Smile and look at the camera.
It helps you connect naturally with viewers.
☑️ Stay flexible.
Glitches happen — we record everything and can edit later.
☑️ End with a takeaway.
Leave attendees with one clear idea or action they can try.
We’ll schedule a short rehearsal, typically the day before your session at noon (Mountain Time).
This 15–20 minute check-in helps ensure everything runs perfectly on event day. The goal is to make you feel confident and ready — no surprises, just a smooth and enjoyable experience for you and the audience.
DURING THIS TIME, WE'LL:
☑️ Collect your slideshow file and any additional resources you'd like us to include in the LaunchPad blog post. We will share this at the beginning of the meetup.
☑️ Test your microphone and camera quality.
☑️ Confirm your lighting and framing look great on Zoom.
☑️ Make sure your slides or demo display correctly.
☑️ Walk through the event flow and timing.
☑️ Answer any last-minute questions you might have.
Once the meetup begins, our team will handle introductions, timing, and transitions so you can focus on sharing your story with confidence.
LaunchPad sessions are relaxed, supportive, and fun. Think of it as chatting with peers who truly get what you do.
TIPS FOR SMOOTH SESSION
☑️ Keep your camera on at all times.
☑️ Use a stationary (non-swivel) chair.
It’s easy to sway or spin without noticing, but even small movements can distract viewers and make video editing tricky later.
☑️ Remember to breathe!
Pausing briefly between sections helps your audience absorb what you’re saying.
☑️ Keep water nearby. Drink as needed.
☑️ Silence all device notifications before you start.
☑️ All sessions are recorded, so if something unexpected happens (audio glitch, restart, etc.), don’t worry, we can edit around it.
Congratulations! You did it! But your talk doesn’t end when the session wraps, it becomes part of the LaunchPad community!
Your presentation will be featured in:
☑️ YouTube: your keynote segment
☑️ Podcast (Apple & Spotify): the full LaunchPad episode (including Gravity Times & Q&A)
