TIP OF THE DAY FROM ROBERT

Did you know you can change the position of macOS Applications in the menubar? Just deploy a managed preference through Jamf similar to the following example:

Preference Domain: com.paloaltonetworks.GlobalProtect.client

<dict>
	<key>NSStatusItem Preferred Position Item-0</key>
	<integer>212</integer>
</dict>

Preference Domain:

This is the domain of the app that is being displayed in the menu bar. For Global Protect, use com.paloaltonetworks.GlobalProtect.client

NSStatusItem Preferred Position

This is the specific space you want this app to fill. NSStatusItem Preferred Position Item-0 is the first space, NSStatusItem Preferred Position Item-1 the second, NSStatusItem Preferred Position Item-2 the third, and so on.

<integer>

This is the specific pixel position from the right side of the screen of where you want the menubar item. 212 is just left of the magnifying glass. If you want to check the pixel position, just use Command + Shift + 4, then click and drag to see how far it is from the right side of the screen. It's for a screenshot but I often use it as a pixel ruler.
